Concrete

Concrete covers key concepts of concrete materials, properties, and safety, as well as horizontal and vertical installation techniques. Finishing, repair, and quality control content also sets students up for job success.  

The two-level Concrete curriculum complies with the U.S. Department of Labor’s standards for apprenticeship programs.

Concrete 2

Concrete 2 builds on Concrete 1 by advancing students’ technical understanding of concrete materials and expanding their capability to deliver higher-performance flatwork and architectural finishes. Students strengthen planning, quality control, and troubleshooting skills while working with more complex placement and repair considerations.

Concrete 1

Concrete 1 introduces students to the core practices of concrete construction, from jobsite safety and tool use to preparing, placing, and finishing concrete. Students develop foundational skills in formwork, reinforcing, and common flatwork applications while focusing on quality, durability, and safe work habits.
