The West Michigan Construction Institute offers the following scholarship opportunities to support students pursuing careers in the skilled trades.
The Norm Brady Scholarship was established in recognition of the outstanding service of Norm Brady, former President of the Associated Builders & Contractors Western MI Chapter. During his tenure, Norm was instrumental in launching the West Michigan Construction Institute.
This scholarship awards one student full tuition and fees for one academic year (for one skilled trades course) at the West Michigan Construction Institute.
Applicants must submit two completed Applicant Reference Forms (provided in Scholarship Application) These references should provide insight into the applicant’s character and accomplishments and must be from non-relatives.
All materials required for this scholarship (application form, transcripts, reference forms) must be submitted by Friday, July 17, 2026.
The Trading Up Scholarship was established to support WMCI students who demonstrate financial need, strong work ethic, and a commitment to building a long-term career in the skilled trades.
The funds awarded will be a minimum of $2,000 and may be awarded to more than one student.
Applicants must submit one reference who can speak to their character, work ethic, or qualifications. Acceptable references include teachers, employers, or mentors.
All materials required for this must be submitted by Friday, July 17, 2026.
The General Scholarship application will be used to award funds to students who are dedicated to advancing their education and skills in post-secondary trades at the West Michigan Construction Institute.
The funds awarded will be a minimum of $500 and may be awarded to more than one student.
No references required.
For the Fall semester, all materials required for this scholarship must be submitted by Friday, July 17, 2026
For the Spring semester, all materials required for this scholarship must be submitted by Friday, November 13, 2026.
The following scholarships are not directly affiliated with WMCI, but can still be used as financial aid for course registration tuition and fees.
